Jim Strock

Jim, who is obviously not as handsome as Bobby, is a first-generation firefighter. He comes from a family deeply rooted in law enforcement and military service, which dated back to the early 1950’s. Deciding to take a different (and smarter) approach, Jim jumped into the fire services field rather than law enforcement.

Starting in 1996, Jim began his fire service career as a volunteer firefighter holding various positions, most notably the department's Training Officer. Additionally, Jim rose through the ranks within his volunteer fire department culminating with the achievement of becoming 1st. Assistant Chief. In 2006 he landed his dream job; becoming a career firefighter in the City of Watervliet, which is his hometown. The City of Watervliet Fire Department, located in Upstate New York, is a busy urban department that provides both ambulance and fire services. In 2017, Jim was promoted to Lieutenant.

Lt. Strock is a NYS certified paramedic, Pro Board Fire Instructor, and Pro Board Fire Investigator. He is currently assigned as a member of the City of Watervliet's Arson Task Force.

Jim is often referred to as “Ruckus” by his family and friends, once you meet him, you’ll know why!
